Week 11: We're back!

image

Sorry for the lull in raiding the past couple weeks. There was a family emergency and then I got suuuuper sick for about a week and was barely able to be online at all, much less raid on my main, much less raid with you guys! But everything is better now, crisis is over, illness is gone and I’m ready to get back to raiding with you guys!

First, some business:

I have had several people suggest we move signups over to openraid.us to make it easier to track raids and sign up for them. l can make the raid events private so only Tumblraiders can access them, OR I can make the events public and allow other people to come in to fill holes in our comps (I’m sure many of you remember a few raids where we’ve had to sit around and wait for another tank or enough healers to get the raid started).

If the events are public, I will give priority slotting to Tumblraiders first, of course. I’ve posted a poll in the General Discussion section of the forums for feedback to be given.

As for this week’s raid:

I’ve had about ten people whisper me in the past three days asking if we can do ICC again. You guys REALLY like ICC. So it looks like we’ll be doing ICC! Let’s stick with our usual raid time of 7pm Saturday (April 28). We will be experimenting with openraid for raid sign ups this week. If things go well and the poll shows people prefer using openraid, we will stick with this method from now on. Link is posted on the forums!

Week 10: Old School Raid Night

Lots to talk about this week! Policy changes, friends list maintenance, and something really different for our raid event! This week we are changing it up a lot and going super old school… We will be raiding the Ruins and Temple of Ahn’Qiraj!

We will be raiding AQ 20 and AQ 40 on Friday, April 6 at 7pm PST.

Come get your classic rep and your red scarab Feat of Strength as well as the chance to kill the “unkillable” ooze boss, Viscidus! Visit the forums to sign up for this week’s raid event.

An official thank you for the unofficial help!

We have been having a lot of success with the unofficial Ulduar runs throughout the weeks and I want to thank everyone who has made it out to these runs. We’ve gotten a lot of achievements and farmed a TON of transmog gear while getting some people geared up for their Herald of the Titans run. Thank you guys so much for helping out with that! We will continue these unofficial runs until the 80s have all their gear (which should be VERY soon!) and then hopefully Ulduar can go back to being part of the regular raid rotation and not a weekly grind!

Friends list cleanout #2

I posted on the forums about my friends list being full again and I have gone through the attendance and will be removing anyone who has not raided with us in the last month. I need to keep my friends list restricted to those raiders who are actively raiding with the group, if you know you will not be able to attend raids for an extended period of time, please PM me and let me know rather than hanging around on my friends list and taking the spot of someone who might need the spot for a raid.

WE ALSO HAVE TWO POLICY CHANGES IN EFFECT!

The Legendary List is officially “locked in” now and mains will no longer be prioritized above alts. This change is being made to prevent people from perpetually sitting at the bottom of the list while helping farm legendaries for any new person who joins the raid group and declares a main and then gets jumps ahead on the list. If you have not signed up for the legendary list before today, you are still welcome to do so, but your name will now start at the bottom of the list, regardless of the main/alt status of your character. Keep in mind having a lower spot on the list does not mean you will never get loot, it means if there are multiple people on the list in the run, the person at the top of the list gets priority. If you are 15th on the list and no one else on the list is in the run you show up for, guess who gets loot priority? YOU!

Our OS3D drake rolls will be restricted to members who have attended at least ONE raid with the group prior to that night’s run. This is to reward members who raid consistently with us and to prevent people from showing up to one raid, getting their drake, then never raiding with us again. I am sure everyone can agree it sucks to go to a raid 20 times and see 20 different people roll on a mount, win, then never come back.

Attendance is recorded per-player, not per-toon, meaning if you have attended four raids on four different characters, you are counted as having attended four raids. I index the list by Real ID name and your declared main, which is why I ask everyone to PM me with this information to officially declare their main.

We still do not have a mandatory attendance policy. Attendance is being kept merely as an objective way for me to determine who is not active in the group so I can delete them to make room for other people.

These policy changes have also been posted in their own thread in the news and announcements section of the forum.
